Perbadanan TAIB received the Payment Initiative of the Year Award at the Asian Banking and Finance, Corporate and Investment Banking Awards in 2024. The accolade recognises the organisation’s innovative efforts in revolutionising digital payments in the Sultanate through its TAIB Virtual Experience (TAIBVX) mobile banking platform. Perbadanan TAIB achieved milestones by launching transformative digital payment features, including the External Payment Interface (EPI) and Scan-to-Pay (STP). The features have redefined the landscape of digital transactions for individuals and businesses, enhancing convenience, security, and accessibility. The EPI service made Perbadanan TAIB the first financial institution in Brunei to offer a seamless account-to-account payment gateway. The innovation allows merchants to integrate TAIBVX into their e-commerce platforms through an application programming interface (API), enhancing user experience. Partners such as MyDST have already been onboard, showcasing the broad reach and collaborative strength of the initiative.

Recognising the limited availability of such solutions for individuals including expatriates looking for an Islamic savings option, Perbadanan TAIB introduced a unique product designed not only to offer competitive returns but also allow systematic savings with voluntary contributions which can be made by individuals or employers, all while remaining fully aligned with Islamic principles. As a result, the initiative has gained strong traction among both local and expatriate customers, reinforcing the financial institution’s commitment to serving diverse communities while maintaining adherence to Islamic values. This innovative deposit solution has driven significant customer adoption and deposit growth, positioning us as a leading player in the Islamic finance sector. For its pioneering role in advancing Islamic deposit solutions and its commitment to financial inclusion, Perbadanan TAIB is awarded the Best Islamic Deposit Product in Asia Pacific by TAB Global.
