The main responsibility of Legal Advisor is to provide sound legal and guidance regarding all aspect of Perbadanan TAIB and its group of companies’ business and corporate needs as to ensure operations are consistent with the constitutive documents and other legal instruments of Perbadanan TAIB Policies, and with the norm and principles of international and commercial law and the best practices of international development banking.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Develops an understanding and appreciation of policy, procedures, and practice in TAIB to be fully competent to undertake own role.
- Participates in specific projects allocated by supervisors within set terms of references and defined processes.
- Identify areas where procedural improvement can be made; and recommend their inclusion in the work processes.
- Coordinate administrative actions leading to, or arising from, decisions made by Management.
- Provides inputs to review and update relevant documentation to improve operations and customer’s experience.
- Prepare reports and documentation, for internal or external parties to facilitate processes.
- Have knowledge in the international laws, regulation and standards related to legal that affect TAIB that are applicable in all jurisdictions in which TAIB conducts its business.
- Have Knowledge in the overview of the local laws, regulation and standards that affect TAIB that are applicable in all jurisdictions in which TAIB conducts its business.
- Have Knowledge in areas of ambiguity of various relevant regulations in Brunei or Internationally related to legal.
- Understand the trends and changes to legal and regulatory landscape pertaining to legal to identify potential requirements that need to be adopted by TAIB.
- Able to demonstrate sound understanding of the financial drivers in the financial services industry.
- Able to demonstrate professionalism by behaving with professional integrity and showing strong adherence to existing rules and regulations e.g., Syariah principles.
- Proven analytical, communication, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Strong listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated, directed and displays an optimistic can-do attitude.
- Demonstrate good persuasion or negotiation skills to convince others.
