Taib Continues Its 2nd Financial Talk
Friday, 18 July 2008
TAIB held its 2nd Financial Talk at the Sheraton
Utama Hotel in the capital as a continuation
from the 1st talk held last May.
The talks were presented by invited speakers and
includes the topics on ‘Stock Selection For
Beginners’ by Aiyshah Raewyn Qwilliam,
managing director of Crescent Risk & Wealth
Management Consultancy based in Malaysia,
‘Global Outlook Specific To SQAM Baraka Index &
SQAM Commodity Index Performance’ by Ronnie
Ho from Societe Generale Asset Management and
‘Dow Jones Indices: World’s Benchmark For Faith
Based Compliant Investing’ by Mr Arffin
Sultan, business development director, Dow Jones
AER Company Inc.
The 2nd Financial Talk aimed to educate the
public on the nature and characteristics of
stocks and indices. Moreover, the talk also gave
a market outlook which is beneficial especially
during the current global market turmoil
(uncertainty). With this it enables the audience
to understand stocks and the risk associated
with it. In addition to that, the audience was
also given better guidelines in appropriate
selection of stocks and indices.
There was an overwhelming response from the
public who attended the talk including loyal
customers of Perbadanan TAIB, invited officials
from the government, private sectors and
students from higher learning institutions.
There will be another two (2) series of talks
planned to be held towards the end of this year
as part of TAIB’s annual activity for the year
2008 and will be notified to the public further.
