Perbadanan TAIB organised its 1st Financial Talk which was opened to the public at the Cesar Grand Hall, Orchid Garden Hotel. This is also part of TAIB’s event held for the year 2008.

The objectives of initiating such event were to educate the public on Islamic Financial Planning and the availability of other types of investment instruments other than saving option or ‘Time Deposit’. It also creates public awareness and understanding on the different types of investment products and avenues, and the balance of risk and reward in investment. Another important objective was to safeguard the public against any misleading information about investment.

The talk was officiated by a welcoming keynotes by TAIB’s acting managing director, Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Pengiran Haji Mat Salleh and then followed by briefings by senior executive officers of TAIB on two different topics, ‘Financial Planning From Islamic Perspective’ by Dayangku Maslina Binti Pengiran Haji Mahmud and ‘Introduction To Basic Islamic Concepts Used By Perbadanan TAIB', by Hajah Sabariah Binti Haji Hassan.

The talk then proceeds further by an invited speaker from Aminvestment Management Sdn Bhd and deals on the topic of ‘Global Economic Prospect And Its Implication’ followed by ‘Investment Instruments, Your Choices Today’.

Over 200 public attended the talk including loyal customers of Perbadanan TAIB which was opened on a ‘First Come First Serve Basis’ and also invited officials and students from the government, private sectors and higher learning institutions such as nursing colleges, University Brunei Darussalam, Institute Technology Brunei and Private Colleges.

This will not be the only talk held by Perbadanan TAIB, as TAIB also planned to continue with another 3 consecutive talks with different topics to be presented which will commenced throughout this year for 2008. The date, time and venue for the next talk will be informed further to the public.
